Applications are invited for the above named vacancy based within the Central Business Unit, based at Police Headquarters (initially).

The successful candidate will provide a professional vehicle recovery and abnormals loads administration service in line with Government legislation and Force policies to both the Force and external customers: and support the functions within the Central Business Unit.

It is essential that the post holder has an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft office software packages, 3 years administrative experience, the ability to interpret complex documentation including legislation and is able to effectively implement changes as and when necessary. The post holder should be able to demonstrate excellent communications skills and the ability to demonstrate a customer focused attitude. The ability to organise and prioritise your own workload and the ability to work flexibly as part of a team are crucial skills to this role.

A vacancy has arisen for a ROTI (Record of Taped Interview) Typist, within the Central Business Unit, based at Police Headquarters.

The successful candidate will provide an effective and efficient typing and clerical service to all Service Units that fall under the remit of the Central Busines Unit. The post holder will be responsible for preparing accurate and balanced summaries of taped interviews conducted with suspects/defendants.

It is essential that the post holder have excellent keyboards skills and be able to work to a high standard at all times. The ability to organise and prioritise your own workload and the ability to work flexibly as part of a team are crucial skills to this role.

Press and Public Relations Officer

No two days are the same at Cleveland Police and we are looking for an enthusiastic and talented person to join our busy press office.

Your primary role will be to identify media opportunities to enhance and protect the reputation of the Force, leading to increased public confidence. You will be a single point of contact for District Liaison to promote positive news stories, as well as attending major incidents, arranging and managing news conferences. You will provide professional advice and guidance to officers and police staff on media issues, as well as assisting in training officers. You will liaise with external partners as well as supervising and directing the work of the Assistant Press Officers.

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and two years’ experience in journalism and/or public relations. You will be educated to degree level, although a recognised qualification in journalism, and/or diploma in Public Relations or equivalent qualification is desirable. You will be competent in Microsoft Office applications and have the ability to travel throughout the Force area. You will also take part in an on call rota.
